Reach For The Moon, who had appeared to be a live contender to provide the Queen with a first success in the Derby at Epsom on June 4, has been withdrawn from the race.
Trained by the father-and-son team of John and Thady Gosden, Reach For The Moon was the 8-1 third favourite to provide his owner with a timely success on the Platinum Jubilee weekend. However, the colt has not yet recovered from an injury suffered last autumn.
Reach For The Moon had been expected to run in the Dante Stakes at York next Thursday but Gosden Sr told the Racing Post: “Following a setback last autumn, Reach For The Moon has been given all the time and care he requires in his training
