News Bites: Andrew Giuliani, Bloomberg Radio, ‘Rising Above.’ | Story



Andrew Giuliani, son of former New York City Mayor and talk WABC New York (770) host Rudy Giuliani joins the Red Apple Media station’s “Sid & Friends In the Morning,” hosted by Sid Rosenberg, as a “contributing friend.” Giuliani will also guest co-host “Cats At Night,” the 5-6pm weekday show hosted by Red Apple Media owner John Catsimatidis. “After working in the White House and taking a run at the Governorship of New York, Andrew brings an insider’s perspective on national, state, and local political issues to WABC Radio and its listeners,” Catsimatidis said in a news release. Giuliani was a special assistant to the President and associate director of the Office of Public Liaison during the Trump administration. A lifelong New Yorker, Giuliani unsuccessfully ran for Governor of New York State in 2021.

With tax season underway, Bloomberg Radio launches a series of daily tax tips for affiliates to air in the 10 weeks leading up to mid-April. Distributed by Key Networks and “Bloomberg Tax Tips” consist of 30-second audio reports, airing Mon.-Fri., Feb. 6 through April 18. The features include sponsorship opportunities and are hosted by Laura Davison, who reports on taxes for Bloomberg News from its Washington bureau. “Whether we’re talking about music radio or news radio, listeners all have a common interest – their money,” Key Networks Chief Revenue Officer Dennis Green said: “There’s no source better than Bloomberg to give them the information they need affecting their taxes – and ultimately their bank accounts.”

Swagger Institute, P1 Learning, AdCellerant and the National Alliance of State Broadcasters Associations will present a virtual sales and management training summit Wednesday, Jan. 25 and Thursday, Jan 26. Rising Above presenters include NABSA’s Dewey Bruce, Borrell Associates’ Corey Elliott, P1 Learning’s Speed Marriott, Elizabeth Bernberg, Arminda Lindsay, Jamie Aplin, Ryan Dearbone, Paul Moehring, Tammy Wellbrock, Brandeis C. Hall, Chris Lytle, Mark Levy, and Derron Steenbergen. Working with OTT based training platform Ten-Minute Trainer Network and AdCellerant, Marriott said the virtual event will provide “cutting-edge digital advertising training solutions and push the boundaries of learning and development in our industry and beyond.” Rising Above will also feature live entertainment from BMI songwriter and Big Sky Music recording artist, Stephanie Quayle, recently named one of Rolling Stone’s “Top Artists You Need to Know.” Registration will be offered for free through 27 participating State Broadcasters Association’s and their memberships.
