RentalU is the American Rental Association’s (ARA) online learning platform which offers members free rental-specific education and training. Courses on the site can be assigned to employees and cover a wide range of topics including event rental, equipment rental, sales, customer service, tips from rental peers and more.
RentalU also offers a full catalog of safety and risk management resources. Topics include:

Two-minute safety videos.
The Prioritize Safety Series from ARA is a monthly video series focused on essential safety tips for the rental industry. These two-minute, animated videos will address a variety of safety topics from personal protective equipment (PPE) to chemical safety to defensive driving.
Each video is accompanied with two questions to test the knowledge of the viewer. These equipment and event specific videos — available in English and Spanish — can be assigned in RentalU. Visit ARArental.org/rentalu to access the videos. Each month a link to the new video also will be sent out in an email. Email education@ararental.org to be added to the email list.
Box truck training program.
The Box Truck Training program from ARA offers members in the event rental industry expert education for their drivers. The program features five hours of in-depth information about how to safely operate a box truck, from lifting and loading, to warehouse safety, DOT regulations, customer service, delivery and pick up. The cost is $99 per license. Those insured with ARA Insurance receive 10 percent off each license. Click here for more information.
Emergency planning for tented events.
Being prepared is key to a safe and successful tented event. To help, ARA created the “Statement of Best Practices of Emergency Evacuation Planning for Tented Events.” This document addresses how to plan for several types of emergencies including weather-related events.
