ART 321 hosting day of professional development workshops for artists

CASPER, Wyo — ART 321 is hosting a full day of professional development workshops on Saturday, Aug. 20. Topics include personal marketing, basic accounting for art sales, business resources in Wyoming for artists, and professional writing essentials.
“Enjoy a BBQ afterwards and network with artists and Friends of ART 321 members!” the release said. Food will be provided by ART 321 staff and board.
Members may attend free. The event is $25 for non-members. Registration is available here.

The schedule for Saturday is as follows:
10-11 a.m: Sharing Your Art Story: Promoting your Art to Potential Buyers with Laura Hunter of Pure Impressions:
“Join us for a Coffee hour session with Laura Hunter of Pure Impressions and learn some tips and good practices for talking about your art practice and creative journey. You’ll walk away from this session with a strong checklist of must haves for your social media and website content and increased comfort talking about yourself and why you do what you do!”
11:30-1 p.m.: Lunch and Learn with Reliant FCU: Separating Personal and Art Income & When to Start an LLC:
“We are fortunate to have some great partners at Reliant FCU that can help with some of the initial questions we get from artists about managing the financial end of their creative journey! Lunch is provided by Reliant.”
1-3 p.m: Wyoming Women’s Business Center: Introduction to resources for artist-owned businesses with WWBC Executive Director Wendy Fanning
“The WWBC assists entrepreneurs, especially women who are economically or socially disadvantaged, through our counseling, training, and micro-finance programs to start or expand small businesses in the state of Wyoming.” The talk will be followed by a round table discussion on Wyoming artists’ business resource needs.
3-4 p.m. Professional Writing for Arts with ART 321 Executive Director Tyler Cessor:
“Get started on your artist statement, resume / CV, bio, or strengthen your grant writing/fellowship application skills. This session will cover strategies for applying for funds and opportunities that will support the work that you are already creating!”
5-9 p.m. Members & Friends of ART 321 BBQ:
“Come network and meet some of the faces behind your favorite art from this year! Food provided by ART 321 staff and board.”
