Welcome back, Philadelphia. I’m here in your inbox per usual to tell you everything you need to know about what’s going on around town. Let’s do it.
First, today’s weather:
A stray afternoon thunderstorm. High: 83 Low: 70.
? I’m looking for business owners and marketers in Philadelphia who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.
I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Philadelphia Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that’s you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.
Here are the top three stories today in Philadelphia:
- As of this morning, students attending Philadelphia public schools will no longer be mandated to wear masks. The district initially required masks for the first 10 days of the school year. Now, masks will be optional but strongly encouraged. District leaders will continue to monitor COVID-19 levels in the community and change guidelines if necessary. (WPVI-TV)
- Disney fans will be happy to hear that a special “Disney100” Exhibition is set to premiere at The Franklin Institute in February 2023. According to Disney, Disney 100: The Exhibition was created to celebrate The Walt Disney Company and will showcase stories dating back to its creation in 1923. The exhibit plans to feature 10 large, themed galleries and interactive installations. (ABC27)
- One of the community’s most popular Halloween parties returns this year with an ’80s horror theme. The Mütter Museum’s “Mischief at the Mütter” event will be held Friday, Oct. 28. Tickets are $70 and are expected to sell out quickly. Guests are invited to celebrate the 125th anniversary of “Dracula” while at the event with access to a “Dracula’s Parlor” pop-up experience.
